Stage Set for Another Awesome Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka! Awards Finals

Everyone is excited and full of anticipation - the question we ask is: What's not to look forward to?

This year's Sir Paul Callaghan Eureka! Awards National Finals Symposium promises to be the best so far - we have fantastic and diverse student presenters, great diversity of subjects grounded in fabulous science, live streaming of the whole afternoon from our website, and we are back at Government House for the Governor General's Awards Dinner thanks to HE the Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy accepting our invitation to continue Vice-Regal patronage.

We start on Thursday 7 September with a serie of special events for members of the alumni group organised by the Eureka Alumni Trust.

In the evening on Thursday sponsors representatives get together with the finalists and scholarship winners to have some great relaxing time to listen to a couple of inspirational speakers (Manu Lange, a graduate research student from Rex Bionics and Peter Boshier, New Zealand's Ombudsman).

Friday 8 September is the big day.  We start at the Museum Theatrette at Massey University.

Our twelve finalists will all have time to show their wares to the Judging Panel including Radio's best presenter Kim Hill and our audience (there are still some spare seats) as they vie for the Premier Award and Trophy.

The three scholarship winners who didn't make the finals will present their winning 6-minute presentations while the Judges deliberate.

After the announcement of the winners the assembled students, parents, sponsors and organisers will repair to Government House to enjoy the hospitality of the Governor General who will present the main prizes to the winners and the Eureka Teachers Awards to the fantastic teachers who exemplify the mission of our Trust.

On Saturday our sponsors and stakeholders will gather to review this year's events and the Alumni Group will continue their forum.

It has been an awesome year for all of us at Eureka!
