EQC offers special video prize
The Earthquake Commission has decided that they want to provide a special prize to encourage students to develop videos which explore natural hazards and natural hazard risk reduction.
This year the prize is focused on videos submitted in the years 11 to 13 section of The Eureka! Science and Technology Video Award competition. A total of $2500 is available for student producers and their school.
New Zealand faces a wide range of natural hazards all the way from weather events to climate change, earthquakes and volcanoes.
How we reduce risks and mitigate outcomes is at the core of a whole lot of scientific research and technology development and video is an extremely powerful way of making sure communities are aware of developments.
