Auckland students win Nonsuch Consulting Eureka! Video Awards
“The maturity of presentations and the appreciation of the importance of science and technology was a major feature of this year’s entries,” said the Chair of the Judging Panel, Dr Russ Ballard, when announcing this year’s winners of the Nonsuch Consulting Eureka! Video Awards competition.
Panel Chair Dr Russ Ballard, who is the Chair of the RCW Eureka! Trust, said the judges were thrilled with the quality of the entries in the third year of the competition.
“The video competition gives students the opportunity to tell a powerful illustrated story using readily available video technology and software.
“The students, from primary, intermediate and secondary schools, submit videos they have created featuring an application of science or technology which delivers significant value for the community. They may work in teams of up to 3 students.
“Students are assessed on:
The clarity of the storyline in the video
The clarity of the explanation of the science and technology and the explanation of how it could be or is being applied to their local community
The accuracy of the description of the science or technology
Innovation and creativity of their approach to visual and audio presentation
