Eureka Video Awards
Another innovation in our programme for 2017 is the Eureka! STEM Video competition which we hope to run in conjunction with NIWA National Science and Technology Fairs.
The STEM video competition is an opportunity for intermediate and secondary school students to show off their technical skills, their creativity and their knowledge of science and technology by making a short video (up to 5 minutes) about the value their community derives or may from a local application of science or technology. Students may work in groups or as individuals.
We are in discussions with Otago University’s Centre for Science Communication about on-line resources for students wanting to try this way of story-telling about STEM.
